Establishment: The hotel itself was built in the 17th century and for many years served as a bank - Veasey, Desborough & Co, who amalgamated with many other private banks to form Barclays in 1804. The hotel bar was the banking chamber. We are not sure when it was converted into an hotel, but it was bought in 1969 (for £40, 000) by John's father Martin and became part of 'Poste Hotels'. In 1994 that company split up and John and Julia Hoskins formed Huntsbridge, which consisted of The Old Bridge and three local pub restaurants.
