Establishment: Our story starts in the 1980's when Janet and her family moved up to the beautiful city of Durham. Having owned a highly successful salon in Manchester from the age of 21 and after a short break to have her children, the creativity buzzing within Janet needed an outlet. The idea of a new salon in Durham had been on her mind for a long time and the decision was made to convert her house in the city centre into a salon and so the Miro concept was born. The location of the house was key to the launch of the new salon and after much work and patience the salon was created but Janet could not decided upon a name. She was keen on having a name that stood out and harnessed the creative yet fashionable enigma that would become known as Miro. After much research Janet came across an inspirational print that incorporated the colours and components of the salon and so she decided to use the name and so in 1990 Miro was born.
